Robert Clemens, Rochester Member Since May 2010 Artist Statement I'm 78, a retired Eastman Kodak staff photographer (1964-89). During those years I completed a wide variety of assignments, both in the studio and on location in the US and abroad. Many of my images were used in various Kodak informational books and other publications of that era. I began as an avid amateur in 1954 ad after a two-year Army tour I got my first job as a photo assistant in a Chicago commercial studio. After working for several other studios I decided photojournalism was my real love and worked four years for my hometown newspaper, the Naperville, IL, SUN. My family and I moved east in 1964 when I was hired by Kodak, where I worked on a wide variety of assignments for 25 years. After shooting film for 34 years I switched to digital nine years ago and currently enjoy shooting and printing, the latter with an Epson R1900 and Photoshop Elements. Many of the images offered in my portfolio began life on film. I believe I have a quality product to offer and hope for success here on Imagekind.
When not working with my photography, I enjoy building and flying free flight (non radio-controlled) model airplanes, gardening, and the history and lore of aviation and World Wars I and II. I've been married for 55 years to my wife, Bernadette, and have two sons and four grandchildren.
