Description I took 'Vin di Toscana' while visiting Montepulciano, in the province of Siena, Tuscany Italy. I loved the bottles of wine, lined up at attention. When I first saw the color rendering of this photo, I passed right over it. It was only on a second, or maybe third, look that I was able to envision it in black and white, which I immediately came to love!It has since become one of my most often requested pieces.
Linda Curty, Winchester, Tennessee Member Since October 2008 Artist Statement I'm a photographer. Photos have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. - My grandparents were photographers. My dad is rarely without his camera. My uncle always says, "If you can't see the camera ... the camera can't see you!"
I started honing my love and learning the science of photography in my college photojournalism class. The science - I think that's one of the things that draws me to photography - by applying the rules, the rule of thirds, the golden mean, proper lighting, and more - you can capture and even amplify the beauty around you.
Photography gives me a way to create art and beauty in a way that my hands - through drawing, painting, or sculpting - never could.
For many years I made portraits and captured weddings. Now I prefer to focus on my travel and landscape art and create tools to help other portrait photographers.
