Description World War One poster designed by artist Vijtech Preissig in 1917. This is a recruiting poster designed to make the army look exciting. It would be ideal in a boy's or student's room, as well as in a den, library, office schoolroom, or family room. Think of it too as a gift for the history buff, history teacher, veteran or graduate.
Ken Sehres, Philadelphia, PA Member Since April 2011 Artist Statement Hi from historic Philadelphia, which is, at once, beautiful, timeless, busy, cultural, and sometimes gritty--in short it is a real city.. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, and after quite a few years have returned to the city of my heart. I was born in Brooklyn, grew up on Long Island, and have lived in Manhattan and Tampa.
I am offering historically researched images, some original art (forthcoming), and original photographs (mine). The images are from my own collections, from the internet, and paintings by my mother (soon to come). Many will be of historic or nostalgic interest. Some will have been digitally enhanced. Credit to the artist will be given wherever possible.
At Imagekind I have the opportunity to offer a large assortment of prints, many fine papers, creative matting, and framing to compliment the prints.
Please take a look at my galleries, and check out my store at homegear.imagekind.com/store. I will be adding images on a regular basis.
