Description This peice depicts a man in chains, a not so human man;) It was hand drawn with artist pastels in Corel Painter and a Wacom tablet. The hair was drawn using airbrushes. I also use textures in the skin and cloth. If you could see it up very close, you'd see a ginko leaf pattern in the draperies.
Christie Gordon, Arizona Member Since September 2010 Artist Statement Christie Gordon's first loves were art and science. She gave way to her passion for art for many years after getting an education in engineering and business and worked in the high tech industry in California’s Silicon Valley. Her career allowed her to travel the world - Australia, Africa, Europe and Asia. After moving to Arizona to be close to her family, she married, gave birth to her son, Jared, and adopted a second son from Russia, Nicholas. When her boys were old enough to attend school, her passion for art flared once again and a new passion, writing, took hold of her.
Christie Gordon draws and paints in digital media using Corel Painter X and a Wacom tablet. She illustrates her own book covers, participates in art shows and takes commissions for portraits. Her style is reminiscent of the manga and anime artists of Japan and China, but uses more realism in her work. She also creates graphic designs for websites and company logos.
Her written works are exclusively Yaoi or M/M Romance with an emphasis on the emotional turmoil and ties binding her characters. Her writing is sexually explicit, highly descriptive, but written with elegance. She blends and mixes her stories between the historical, paranormal, and contemporary romance genres. The key ingredient in her stories is psychologically crippled characters who, through love and their own sheer will, find a way to overcome their emotional impediments and external forces to find their "happily ever after."
