Dale Orlando, Sarasota, FL & Lynn, MA Member Since July 2010 Artist Statement I’ve painted for as long as I can remember, helping my father with a painting business and hobbies as a child. In high school I designed sets and painted scenery for packed theater house musical productions with high school classmate and budding talent, Meryl Streep. I earned my first commission for mural designs at the National Dental Association Convention in my senior year.
While I was working on set designs for Peter Pan at Goddard College, two builder/architects recruited me to join a small team of students to design and build the Goddard College Design Center from the ground up. They were looking for “artists not afraid of big spaces”. That’s how my love of architectural renderings, house portraits and landscapes began. I’ve been building and painting large spaces ever since then.
Along the way I learned about digital imagery, studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Art Institute of Boston and other area schools for design and illustration, animation and cartooning. Fine art landscapes and house portraits give me an opportunity to study the beauty of nature and the magnificence of architectural designs. My renderings of New England landscapes and harbors have been published and featured at New EnglandUSA.com .
Custom house portraits, original landscape paintings or signed limited editions of my work can be purchased at Polaris Production.com , my company site.
For a while I worked in television and produced an award winning documentary Sisters Mothers Daughters that is featured at Arts & Education. I co-produced a series on The Big Dig for WGBH, the PBS flagship. Polaris Production.com also offers stock video clips for broadcast or web cast.
