Artist Statement Originally from Wales, I emigrated to Canada in my 20s, unfortunately having to sell my Leica to get enough money to start me off in my new country. Since my arrival in 1964, I have lived in Toronto, Ottawa, Nanaimo, B.C., Germany, Ottawa again and now that I have retired, in Nova Scotia. In 1980 my family and I took a year off, bought a VW camper and spent a year travelling through Europe and North Africa, taking a lot of pictures on the way. At the end of that year, we found ourselves at the Canadian Forces Base in Lahr, in the Black Forest of Germany, where we stayed for the next eight years!

I have been interested in photography since I was in grammar school, a lot of years ago! I am not sure that I would call myself an artist, but definitely a photographer, someone who enjoys taking pictures and yes, enjoys showing them. I long for the day when I get a SLR again so that my pictures will have the sharpness and clarity that I crave.

I hope you get as much pleasure looking at them as I did taking them.
