Description I was painting a full sized Wyoming butte canvas when I came upon these colors. How simply a couple of colors can create the landscape and atmosphere of a particular geography. I just scratched away some of the paint to give the butte its shapes. Real fun.
Paul Simone, Fayetteville Member Since June 2008 Artist Statement I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil. My so called 'right brain' has been active from the start. However, life got in the way and my 'left brain' won out. I got steered in the direction of electronics first via the US Air Force and later via the American Telephone & Telegraph company. But the GI Bill paid off and I got as much education as I could. One of my degrees is in art. Now that I'm retired I can once again return to my 'right brain' and, through the wonders of computers, allow my 'left brain' to participate in expressing my artistic feelings by using pixels as well as oils, acrylics, watercolors, pen and pencils. I have also taught drawing, oil and acrylic painting among other things. In addition I have studied and practiced photo restoration for over 25 years now. Photoshop has been my program of choice in case you are wondering. I do have a program called 'Painter' but I generally live in Photoshop. Adobe's new sales policies annoy me so I'm looking at a program called GIMP. My other website is at www.glazemaps.com and is designed as a tool for artists; check it out. As of 1-1-2014 I am reviving and converting my cartoon strip 'Hobo Robo' into an adventure series. It will be completely overhauled and illustrated by me. The New Hobo Robo is already far beyond my initial expectations; I create it and I'm amazed each day. Stay tuned. Thanks, Pauljs
