Description When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary; When troubles come and my heart burdened be;Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,Until you come and sit awhile with me.You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up: To more than I can be.There is no life - no life without its hunger; Each restless heart beats so imperfectly; But when you come and I am filled with wonder,Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity. You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up: To more than I can be.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The ocean is one of those places I like to escape to every now and again, just to get a different perspective of God's mighty power and greatness and then I am completely humbled that He is even remotely mindful of little ole me, even at that very moment while I am standing on the shore looking out at the beauty of the vast open sea. I find myself wondering, if the sound of waves could be translated into words, what they would be saying. I mean, the sound of the waves upon the shoreline are so soothing. It's almost as if I'm getting a glimpse of God himself. You've got this powerful force right in front of you yet it's gently speaking to you somehow, communicating, lulling, comforting and I do always find it hard to leave when the day is done.(Note: this picture began as a photograph of a sand dollar on the beach.) .
Sandra Jean, Pacific Northwest Member Since March 2008 Artist Statement It's a wonderful gift to be given the freedom to express ourselves through the diverse mediums of art. I believe that a creative spirit dwells within the depths of each human being and that some of the greatest joys in life come from seeking and discovering what our inherent gifts are. And then comes the exhilaration of cultivating and developing those gifts in a way that not only aids us in soulfully defining who we are, but at the same time benefits and touches the lives of others in some positive way. I have always been passionate about the arts and in the past couple of years have discovered the extremely insightful and therapeutic realm of digital painting, graphic design and photography, bouncing from one to the other in subject matter and self development. Always seeking to create and capture something different from what is considered usual and always striving to do better.
On a more personal note, God and my family come before all things. In the arts, music is my first love, I am an avid reader and a lover of the outdoors and nature in all of its vibrant and moody changes and often times my artwork is a reflection of what is currently moving me.
