Artist Statement Im an 18 year old photographer from Sydney Australia, i really only started getting in to photography when i chose it for the medium from my HSC body of work for school. I love taking photos of buildings that are considered ordinary parts of the urban landscape, warehouses, car parks, buildings that are built around metal frame works, these objects are both present and absent, neutral masses that occupy space but never attract attention of passes-by.
I love the work of Robert Doisneau as he is able to capture, day after day, the ordinary gestures of ordinary people in ordinary situations. Joys he felt and discoveries he made as he walked through the city make up the subkect matter of his photographs.
