Artist Statement I am a Northern Artist from Warrington Cheshire in the UK and have been drawing and painting for over 80 years (I am now 90) I do not really have a set style as I like to experiment with different techniques and with different mediums. If I had to choose one influence it would have to be the Renascence period where I got my love for clouds from. I have work on display in the Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, on the BBC's Art Website and I am sometimes featured in local newspapers and magazines. I served in Italy during WWII where i was wounded and sent to a military hospital which afforded me the honour of painting and drawing my brothers in arms so they would have a keepsake to send home and I also got the chance to tour Italy and paint some of it's beautiful landscapes. I was recently humbled to be offered an Honourary Doctorate by Chester University for my lifetimes dedication to fine art. It is nice to receive some recognition for my work as I would like to think that I have given people pleasure with it over my lifetime.
