Artist Statement Hello and welcome to Kellywick125. I named the store after my two greatest little bundles of joy, my son and my dog. I started my artistic training when I was a child. My Grandma Bonnie was my biggest inspiration and first teacher. She saw the talent in me and opened the doors to a world full of color and shapes. My parents saw it as well and they did everything they could to encourage it and let it grow.
Throughout school my teachers continued to push me to be a better artist, but my training was always in the traditional mediums like oil, pencil and acrylic. It wasn't until I was married and had my son that I really went crazy in the digital art world.
I quickly realized that traditional art is a novelty but digital art is the future. I knew that this was my path and best of all no mess involved, which is a must when you have a toddler running around getting into everything!
I love the simple beauty of silhouettes. The characters in my art could be anyone of us. There is no stereotyping typical in most art. I try to capture a moment in time that invokes a strong emotion. That after all is what art is suppose to do. I am always open to suggestions but most of the time I find the greatest inspiration is right in front of me...my family.
