Artist Statement Hello, and Welcome!

My photography journey began in high school where I learned the fundamentals of the art including developing my own film. The medium has progressed so far from those days, and my interest and fascination with photography has only increased.

I absolutely love being outdoors in nature, so many of my photographs came from my hiking trips around Washington state and from walking out the front door of the log cabin to the rocky beach only steps away. Other photos have come from my travels to the monuments and museums of Washington, DC, the rich history of the streets (and pubs) of London, and the beautiful countryside of Ireland.

I had literally thousands of photos that I had taken over the years some of which I printed and mounted in my home and some of which I turned into paintings. Friends and family commented about how much they like my work, so I thought, why not turn my hobby into a business? After many months of researching about how to sell artwork online, I came across Imagekind, and Lauren Kali Art was born.

I am fascinated by the way light plays off of different scenes creating strange and interesting shadows and then am intrigued and thrilled by how skewing those images digitally creates new perspectives (see my Abstracts Gallery).
