Artist Statement My father was an amateur photographer with his own darkroom, so I was surrounded by photography from a very early age. The first camera I can remember using was one that took Kodak Disc film, when I was about nine years old. By the time I was twelve I had a 35mm point-and-shoot camera, and I got my first SLR - a Pentax p30t - at the age of 15.

I continued with film through the high school Yearbook club and into the Photojournalism program at RIT, but circumstances dictated a change of major. Instead of a vocation photography continued as an avocation, and I continued to enter (and sometimes place in) photography contests. I was also published in the "Best of Photography Annual 1997" by Photographer's Forum.

In 2003 I finally went digital, albeit with a compact Pentax S4. In 2006 I bought my first digital SLR-type camera - a Konica Minolta Dimage A2 - and at the end of 2008 I got my first full interchangeable DSLR, an Olympus e-520. A few years later it was joined by an Olympus E3.

In 2019 I started another visual arts avocation: watercolor painting. High-quality scanning enable those images to be printed and framed as well, and some of them will be offered here.
