Artist Statement For my 18th birthday, the young man I was dating, gave me a 35mm camera. It was one of the best gifts I'd ever received and I didn't know at the time, how much it would change my life.
Since then (almost 30 years) I've been all over the United States; Mexico, Canada, England and the Carribbean taking photos everywhere I go.
I am the proud Mama of two teens; 17 and 16; and their beautiful faces are in a lot of my photos, too. I swear I have two of the most photogenic kids in the world!
For almost 20 years I worked for a major US airline; USAirways, which allowed me my travel excursions. Since leaving the airline in 2000, I've taken my gift for photography and my natural talent for writing and have been working toward becoming an independent photojournalist.
My life is wonderful. Along with my children, the man I love, Dave, lives with us and our dog, Hazel and three cats. We have a simple life; we don't want or need the drama and have some of our most fun times just being together with a camera.
