Description I love the leaves of the false hellebore plants and ants do, too! There are always ants on them. Interestingly, the leaves of many species of false hellebore contain toxic alkaloids with insecticidal properties. When carefully prepared (the plants are toxic to people if ingested), the roots of the plant can be used to control some garden insect pests.
Jane Rohling, Eagle, ID Member Since January 2009 Artist Statement I have been a photographer for over 35 years. Most of my images have been of natural subjects and photography has been a valuable tool in my profession as an interpreter of natural and cultural history. In recent years I've been challenging myself to shoot many more subjects. I'm particularly enjoying working with details taken out of context, juxtapositions of man-made and natural elements, and with abstract patterns. Digital photography has given me the freedom to experiment and play with the images in the camera and in the computer. I hope you enjoy the results!
Note: Many of the images in my galleries are available in much larger files than I have uploaded here. Please contact me if you're interested in a larger size print that what than the file that appears in the gallery to see if I have a larger file.
