Artist Statement Hi Folks,
Thanks for stopping by to check out my gallery. I claim to be a painter first but photography provides a lot of satisfaction also. Most of my work consists of images inspired by nature and my slightly stylized (and occasionally a little warped) interpretation of the things I see and paint. I've always lived in the southwest and am strongly moved by the moods, flavors and ethnicity of the region. I feel very fortunate that I get to live and work in a wilderness area in southeast Arizona. I'm constantly inspired by the natural world all around me and sometimes there are those days or even moments that are so perfect and joyous that I wish I could somehow capture that place in time. Other times it can be a scene or vision that simmers in my imagination for awhile then finally has to be set free. Anyhow, I guess that's why I paint, and it's great to be able to share it with you in this community. Hope you see something you enjoy.
