Twenty-One Lines on Hell
Let me disabuse you of your notions of hell: there is no devil there are no flames; nor are there throngs of tortured souls, crying in despair at being deprived of seeing the face of God wreathed in celestial clouds.
Hell is a dank ashen room, completely silent but for the splash of your own tears on an empty table, barred windows promising a life of beauty, love and joy. But alas, there is no doorway. You can look but never own it.
That, my friends, is hell. I have no fear of death. I have no fear of hell. For I inhabit death in life and hell is here on earth. 2013 RC deWinter
