Artist Statement I am a single mum of two kids, a 'would be' artist and I also took the plunge and a huge gamble to open up my own small gallery. Some call me brave but I call myself MAD! I signed the lease and suddenly the call of doom and gloom, credit crunch and recession started to sound out! Oh my goodness! .. for the first time in my life I can't sleep at night!

I opened the gallery, a small but bright space with loads of natural light space on Sept 1st 08 - it was a slow Sept/Oct and suddenly Nov Dec and Jan too were very steady months - people were buying and buying right into the first week in February and now over the past couple of weeks a mighty lull!! .. Its given me the chance to pick up my brushes again and I spend the hours between 11am and 3pm in the Gallery painting. At 3 I dash off to collect my son from school and to be there for my daughter. So to now ... I am desperately seeking out 4 or 5 artist associates to share the space with me - to make the place their own, to use it as exhibition space/workshop .... if you are in the vicinity of the beautiful harbour in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, Scotland the gallery is only minutes away overlooking the amazing views of the River Tay and the North Sea on the North East Scotland. x
