T. Scot Halpin, Bloomington, IN Member Since January 2008 Artist Statement Scot's biography has become his obituary. He passed away on February 9, 2008. For those of you who knew Scot, this is certainly sad news. Scot and I discovered Imagekind via a google search for Richard Stine, a long time favorite artist of Scot's. We began working with the site, and as we thought through the process we both began to see the tremendous potential for exhibiting Scot's huge body of work using imagekind.
Because of his recent passing, I have had to write some about him. Over and over people told me how he'd inspired and encouraged them. Scot became intereted in art and music around the age of 11. By the age of 12, he was in bands and doing huge paintings. He traveled to California in 1972. It's an historical fact that he played the drums for the Who, at the Cow Palace in 1973, for which he was awarded RollingStone Magazine's "Pick-up Player of the Year" Award. He took on cult mytholgical status.
By hook or by crook, Scot managed to make a living as a professional artist and musician. We traveled all over, participating in the top outdoor art fairs around the country. Many of you know us from a meeting in that faithfull 10 x 10 foot booth! For those of you coming to imagekind from the fair experience, I think you will love looking at and buying from this site.
Please check out tscot.blogspot.com. Unfortunately I'm at the bottom of a very steep learning curve, but I do promise try and use the blog to display artwork and play music. We will be doing some heavy cateloging, archiving and publishing of Scot's work. He left us 1,000's of drawings, etchings, paintings, graphic files and 1,000's of hours of orginal recorded music.
Please email me with your address if you'd like to receive my (not sent very often) news letter. My address is: email@example.com.
This is just the absolute very beginning. I hope you'll keep this site handy and keep checking in regularly to see what's new. Scot left an absolutely humongous body of work. Being able to show the entire range of Scot's work is a fabulous gift.
Thanks for visiting. Tell your friends. Check out tscot.imagekind.com, tscot.cafepress.com, tscot.blogspot.com. Email is firstname.lastname@example.org
Blessings be upon you.
