Artist Statement Since earliest childhood, studying and celebrating the magnificence of the natural world has been my central passion. Born and raised in Canada, I spent much of my childhood roaming the hills, exploring creeks, meadows, rivers and lakes around the Northern Ontario area. Fascinated by insects and flowers, I became intimately familiar with what I later called "the land of the small," and by the age of 12 I had my first 35mm camera for recording what I found there. I have a deep sense of appreciation of our natural environment and that is reflected and recorded in the way I look at the world and capture it in photos.

I am the kind of photographer whose eye is constantly in search of a subject, a special scene, or an interesting perspective on events. I also enjoy experimentation and a small glimpse into those areas can be seen in parts of my photo art gallery. There is no single style that works best in all settings so I try to direct my photography differently for each and every project to achieve the desired results.
