Artist Statement I grew up and attended school in a small town in Southeast Missouri. Thank you Sheryl Crow for putting us on the map! After finishing high school I headed for the big city of Arlington, Texas to attend college where I majored in merchandising and design. My college life brought me many opportunities which included modeling at the Dallas Apparel Mart and the chance to meet Oscar de LaRenta in person.

After college I moved to St. Louis to be near my family. This is where I first discovered I had a talent for portrait photography. We traveled through many states from north to south and I often smile when I think of the people I was fortunate to meet and work with during that time.

I was blessed to work later with a very talented photographer by the name of Steve Robertson. Steve taught me the basics of photo re-touch and opened my eyes to creativity in photography. Although he has since retired I am sure many people are honored to have at least one of his photos in their possession.

Several years later I met a wonderfully talented photographer by the name of Jack L. Bradley. Mr. Bradley worked as a Peoria Journal Star newspaper photographer for many years and has a collection of beautiful photographs shown in his collection at Bradley University. He has been an inspiration and a true mentor encouraging and challenging me along the way.

I am currently employed full time with a local school district and enjoy the family atmosphere and the daily challenges working with our young teens; not to mention the dedication of so many talented educational professionals.

I am looking forward to the future and one day semi-retirement with the chance to enjoy creating beautiful photographs that others may enjoy.
