Description Full moon names date back to Native Americans. Tribes of a few hundred years ago kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring full moon. Their names were applied to the entire month in which each occurred. This full moon will be rising and setting at the time of year when bucks-male deer-typically begin to grow their new antlers, starting with velvety bumps on their foreheads.Last night, an exceptionally large and glorious moon graced our skies over the Bashakill Wetlands, Haven New York. The Moon was full at the perigee point of its orbit-the point when it's closest to Earth.Image was composed in Photoshop using one image of just the moon taken at the wetlands, and one image taken at the wetlands from behind a dead tree and the reeds surrounding it, along Haven Road. Texture composed in Photoshop, using original textures and one texture by design Cuts.
