Description The Mechanicstown O&W (Ontario and Western) Railway Depot, just east of Middletown, New York. This building was once in use as an apartment building, then converted to a restaurant and nightclub. I have been in this building at both times of its life, a most amazing building at one time. The building now sits in disrepair, vandals have broken the windows and destroyed the insides. All too often, the old station is used as a local garbage dump site.Telegraph call was known as MH, with milepost at 74.76 miles from Weehawken, New Jersey. The railroad folded in 1957, with passenger service ending prior to that date. The depot housed the station master and his family upstairs, with the railway facilities using the lower floor of the building.Photographed in Mechanicstown, New York. Composed in Photoshop
