Description My dad was a glass man. He worked for Federal Glass in Columbus, Ohio from 1954 until the factory closed in 1979. He was an artist and he loved glass. He traveled to Europe and parts of the US to see beautiful handmade glass and then returned to his company and worked on how to translate that form into mass produced glassware that everyone could afford. One time he was given the opportunity when visiting Blenko Glass, to design a pitcher and the artisans there made his pitcher by hand. This was a treasure to him and now to me.
Karen Adams, Columbus, Ohio Member Since November 2011 Artist Statement I have always loved making art. In college it was painting and ceramics that held my interests, but through the years, photography has become my main focus (no pun intended!) This has combined with a love of gardening, then an interest in the gorgeous butterflies that were my companions out in the sunshine. So now, I would like to share the beauty I live with in my backyard garden in Ohio.
