Artist Statement

Israel Torres, born in Texas, now residing in California, Diploma in Computer Science, after studying Architecture and Urban Planning. Activities in different art areas: Fine Art, Digital Art, and Photography.
Three cornerstones comprise the primary characteristics of Israel Torres’s artistic work: his care for detail, his love of nature and his affinity for Abstract Art.
His love of nature leads him to the exploration of landscapes and all art, and the instinct within. For the artist believes that there is an original, creative instinct which is hidden within ideas, borrowed beliefs, and conditioned behavior. By freeing the capacity for visual expression the artist is awakened and releases the full powers of that original self.
The artist’s love for the old masters is manifested in his technique and his use of colors. One cannot help but think about old masters such as Van Gogh, Cezanne, Gauguin or Kandinsky and even Picasso. This may be found as a main theme in his paintings, and at the same time is an enduring component of his personal style.
