beauty fades not necessarily to ugliness for beauty like the truth takes many forms so much is in the eye of the beholder the desiccated petals of the rose are no less lovely in their withering only altered to a different loveliness and so it is with us we lose the bloom of youth as we travel round the wheel altered by the living of our lives but there is beauty yet in faces marked by time life's lessons mapped in lines do not despoil the smiles of age only the shallow are impressed with candy wrapping and lose affection once that wrapping is removed if affection lives in truth it will not die but as time passes it will only be improved 2014 RC deWinter
