Artist Statement Throughout my life I have been fascinated and drawn to color and texture. For me, I am inspired by nature’s color palate with its remarkable, renewable, and constantly changing visual array.


Within my work I try to capture the details of nature many times overlooked in the frantic pace of the every day. By concentrating on color, shape, highlight, and shadow my work can be perceived both as abstract and realism simultaneously. Similar to a rose with its numerous petals making up the beautiful bud, likewise I paint in layers until the color, saturation, and texture emerges into an organic shape and feel.


Each piece reflects my own search for the moments when I can be still within nature appreciating even the smallest feature that nature has provided us to enjoy.
