bitter herbs
what do you want me to say, that we can glue the shattered mirror back to what it was? some things are better left in splinters on the floor.
what is there to say when the music stops, the sun goes down, the wound becomes a ragged scar? nothing. there's no going back to whatever it was.
and knowing you theres no going forward. you dont have the balls to live with me in real life. that would take risk, dumping that calculator you call a heart and letting real red blood flow through your chest again.
lets not forget im not your type, not gifted with that laundry list of skills that take such precedence over the real glue that is love.
don't look at me that way it's self-destructive to hunger for such sweet poisoni can see the skull & crossbones but i'm starving.
if i were dying i would tell you that i want you still more than any man ive ever known, but im not. im going to live and live well. you know what they say about the best revenge.
so hand me that bottle as you leave. i need to wash away the aftertaste of lies. you promised sweetness but fed me bitter herbs forked gently in my mouth. 2013 RC deWinter
