Artist Statement I am an artist residing in Hilo, Hawaii and I have just started my new business at rachelscottart.com where I sell high quality canvas prints of my original acrylic paintings. I was born in Portland, Oregon, and have lived in Sausalito, California, Lahaina, Maui, the Oregon Coast, Palau, Pohnpei, Micronesia and now live in Hilo, Hawaii. I have traveled extensively around the world including many exotic locations in the Pacific. My art reflects my experiences and observations of different cultures, people and places, and I believe that I have my own distinctive and unique artistic styles. I especially appreciate island cultures and my works emphasize tropical images, especially those of Micronesia and Hawaii.
