Description The Halls Mills Covered Bridge crosses the Neversink River, Claryville, New York, USA. Truss Type is Town Lattice.Construction began in 1906 and was completed in 1912, built by David Benton and James Knight. This bridge has a short timber approach span, with the main span of 119 feet. There is a gauging station just downstream of the bridge. The bridge was retired from vehicle use in 1963. One of the dry stacked stone abutments was damaged heavily during Hurricanes Irene and Lee in August 2011,and is now under construction to be restored. It is one of 22 covered bridges in New York State.Located in Claryville, NY, Sullivan County, this bridge is privately owned.
