Artist Statement Edie Hamblin

Rural Virginia is the place of my roots. I must have bonded at some level with the natural beauty of that place because my fondest subject today is still about the trees and the hills. Nearly every time I drive on a new road I see a view that I feel an urgency to capture and to preserve on paper. Doing so gives me great joy.
