Description This Plein Air Impressionist painting was based on the my trip to Jackson, Wyoming. There I visited the Renowned Teton Mountains. Like so many other artists I was inspired by those mountains. The violet colors of the mountains against the greens of the pastures is what I really like about this painting.
Kevin McCain, Mesa Member Since June 2011 Artist Statement I am a professional artist and children's book illustrator. In my paintings I use vibrant colors and thick impasto to give my paintings a life and vitality that capture the viewer’s attention. I strive for a dreamy quality to my paintings. To make them more reminiscent of memories rather than an illustration of a particular scene. The impression of the landscape is more important than the actual content.
