Artist Statement I am a self taught artist and paint by instinct. My mediums I prefer are oil and acrylic. My earliest memories of art were around age 8 when I took my first art talent test and was told that I have talent. By age 17 I had a scholarship to the art institute in Chicago for fashion design. I received a diploma in Interior decorating and started a design/renovation business which I still act as a designer and consultant. This past year I returned to art and have created my own unique style of art from abstract to impressionistic style. I love color and emotion in my paintings and paint the essence of my subject instead of the outward features. My paintings are spiritual in nature and I love to paint as a way of expressing the beauty that I see in the art I create.
