Description Watercolor, 11 x 15. King Street Station is a train station in Seattle, WA. Located on Jackson Street between 3rd and 4th Ave S, a three-story brick building with a twelve-story clock tower. It first opened to the public in May 1906, is an important part of Seattles history. For over one hundred years, it has improved connections, serving as a gateway for millions of travelers coming into Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. In 2008 the City of Seattles purchase of the landmark building from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway Company for $10 (originally they agreed on $1 but neither the city nor the railroad could process so small a check). King Street Station is undergoing a $50 million renovation and is planned to finally be complete by 2013. The tower clocks have been repaired and are now keeping correct time after being idle for years.
