Artist Statement I am an artist... among many other fun things.

I have drawn or painted my entire life but long after the formal lessons were over, my mentor stepped into my life. It is obvious that I am inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe.

As a child I always loved drawing people but I have focused on painting flowers most of my adult life. However, after completing some commissioned work over the last few years, I realized that I enjoyed painting people and had the confidence to expand my portfolio. I enjoy movement. I have spent a significant part of my life dancing. I find that I often use myself as a model for hands, feet and necks to refine the images I work on. I feel like I understand where the movement is coming from. What I never imagined is how much the fabric of the clothing could look so much like a flower.

I find flowers in everything.

Where all of this will take me is unknown... but it can truly be known that this is part of my journey.
