Description I love zinnias. They are cheery, strong, bright and reliable. I start them in my greenhouse every spring and they pop right up, and can take all kinds of fickle things that a New England spring can throw at them. In this painting, a monarch butterfly visits a patch of zinnias in bright red.
F.T. McKinstry, New England Member Since September 2007 Artist Statement I am a fantasy author who loves to paint. Writing and painting work together nicely; one inspires me to do the other. Endlessly fascinated by woods, gardens, birds, wild animals, the sun, moon and stars, I like to put to canvas, or in words, inner landscapes done in rich colors and a mysterious feel inspired by fairy tales, myth, legend and imagination.
