Artist Statement Hello, my name is Chris Smith, I live in the Highlands of Scotland, and as you will see, I am inspired by my surroundings. The initial collection of images to be shown here is called 'natural graphics', in this I attempt to do several things;
One is to move away from the classic, iconic postcard image of mountains and lochs, this has been done many times before.
Secondly, to make 'good light' on everyday scenes the point of the excercise, an attempt to demonstrate the beauty of the everyday things, that we all have access to.
Thirdly, you will notice that the images are initially a little 'unusual'!, look a little longer and the complex nature of the mirroring techniques employed will become clear. The longer and closer you look, the more you may see!!
