Description I saw this man playing the bongo drums while I was at a street fair in Hoboken, New Jersey. The bongo, a percussion instrument, can be traced to the eastern part of Cuba known as the 'Oriente', during the nineteenth century. They have been credited with helping to develop salsa music, bolero, and other Latin American musical genres.
