Description The Oklahoma City National Memorial is the largest memorial of its kind in the United States. It honors the victims, survivors, rescuers, and all who were changed by the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995. The memorial is located in downtown Oklahoma City on the former site of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, which was destroyed in the 1995 bombing. Shown in this photo is the reflecting pool and the gate of time on which is inscribed the exact time that the bomb went off.
Jim Lawrence, Colorado Springs Member Since December 2009 Artist Statement I have always been inspired by the natural world around me. While living in Northern New England as a boy, I always had access to the sea shore and mountains. I was an avid hiker and camper so it was natural that I would turn to photography to allow myself to express the wonder of nature that I feel and to share it with others. In this world of commercialization and hectic living, I find it soothing to the soul to just hop in the car and drive to the mountains to immerse myself in the serenity of the natural world.
