DescriptionThe Patas Monkey (Erythrocebus patas), also known as the Wadi monkey or Hussar monkey, is a ground-dwelling monkey distributed over semi-arid areas of West Africa, and into East Africa. It is the only species classified in the genus Erythrocebus. Recent phylogenetic evidence indicates that it is the closest relative of the Grivet (Cercopithecus aethiops), suggesting nomenclatural revision. The Patas Monkey grows to 85 cm (33 in) in length, excluding the tail, which measures 75 cm (30 in). Adult males are considerably larger than adult females. Reaching speeds of 55 km/h (34 mph), it is the fastest runner among the primates.PENTAX K20DSLR - 300mm
Rich Summers, Meridian, Idaho Member Since January 2009 Artist Statement My grandfather and mother both oil painted, and I guess I just followed in their footsteps. I paint with oils the most, but on occasion use acrylics.
I paint landscapes and wildlife the most, but have done a few other things as special projects for friends and family. You might also find a photograph I've taken now and then.
You'll find a mix of my landscape, wildlife art and photography.
Should you find an image you like, they are available to purchase as greetings cards and prints.
