Artist Statement I am originally from New York City and now live in Shoreline, Washington after spending nearly 7 wonderful years in Chicago, Illinois. Art is my passion since I was 7 years old, but with limited time to pursue in some of my adult years because of family responsibilities until 2008 when I once again made art a full-time venture.

Digital photography with photographic art is currently my main focus capturing the beauty and depth of nature, life, and living along with the surrounding elements and objects within time and space. I sometimes combine realism with an impressionistic or abstract style in an evolved 'mixed media' art form... I prefer 'mixed media' instead of 'manipulation' -- the artwork uses two mediums: digital photography + photographic art techniques with special software which is similar to applying paint in a particular style or placing materials on canvas or other surfaces. When I create the artwork the whole image is important: the mood and texture it projects and often how the image is reproduced incorporating printing on textured paper or canvas to provide this dimensional aspect and "feel and mood" to my artwork. I want others drawn into my images in a way which gives a pleasant and sometimes adventurous, or sympathetic feeling, or expands their imagination -- to join in the experience or escape from tangible surroundings.

Sometimes my art goes beyond photography and includes digital paintings or sketching. I show and sell privately nationally and worldwide via the internet, at shows, and exhibitions and have, thus far, more than 25 public live showings of some of my work in Chicago, IL (including the Palette & Chisel) and in Seattle, Edmonds, Shoreline, WA, and surround areas. Since COVID, most of my exhibitions have been via the internet. I have won numerous awards and received an art grant. My work is also in print. One of my images in my IK gallery "Seattle Waterfront...in Sepia" is displayed as public art in Seattle's International District.

Select IK images are available as greeting cards. Greeting cards can be framed. Original art make fantastic gifts. Framed cards become portable art which are ideal for people with limited space for displaying art and great for those who love art but have a tiny budget.

ARTIST'S NOTE -- "Thank you IK for naming me a "Featured Artist" when first starting with IK. Importantly, in September 2011 I had my first solo exhibition and grant!- 25+ pieces of my artwork was exhibited at the Renaissance Court Gallery at the Chicago Cultural Center from 6/1/2012 - 7/8/2012, “Flowers of Impression(ism) [this was partially supported by Community Arts Assistance Program grant - City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.] The exhibition was reviewed in an online publication "NewcityArt."

My Galleries are re-evolving and growing. Any questions, contact me via IK.
