Description The impressive Castle fortress at the historic fortified city of Segovia Spain. The Castle belongs to the Spanish Royal Family and dates back to at least the year 800 and was built on the ruins of an older roman castle then reformed many times. Eventually becoming a military fortress. Not only does it have great beauty but it proved to be an extremely effective fortress during a long siege by Napoleon's troops in the early 1800's. It crowns the peak of the small mountain the city is built on and the other end of the impressive historic city has the largest original roman aqueduct in the world built during roman times approximately 2000 years ago.
