Artist Statement Drawing and art have always been a part of my life that I've tapped into throughout my working gal days.

I began to study oil painting in 1998 with the wonderful Barbara Tobiska. She is the perfect teacher: generous, supportive, and very knowledgeable.

I primarily work in oils, but I will occasionally do a watercolor or acrylic painting for fun. I will always draw. Working in pencil gives me tremendous satisfaction - the challenges of rendering a true likeness, establishing darks and lights, creating textures. I will draw for the rest of my life.
