DescriptionStill Life is a self-portrait created by photographic artist, Jaeda DeWalt and is a part of the DeWalt Gallery collection. Image photographed using a digital camera with a remote-controlled shutter release.
About this image: I have an on-going fascination with mannequins. I love the eerie way in which mannequins can take on human qualities and the sad way in which humans can take on mannequin traits.
This image represents many things to me: The sacred silence of my internal landscape the way i emotionally detach and shut down when i am wounded by others the tightly controlled chaos of my everyday existence.
The visual silence of this image represents the quiet i crave in my real-life world. My PTSD causes every sound, emotion and experience to be very loud. Its kind of like experiencing life through a really loud amplifier, all of the time. I like solitary sanctuary, it is the only time i feel i can truly relax and let my guard down.
About Me: I am a self-taught photographic artist. My art explores my internal landscapes, like... survivor issues, spirituality and sensuality. Much of my work is comprised of self-portraits. My intent with my creations is to be one of the connecting threads in the universal fabric we share. A detailed biography and resume can be viewed here: https://www.behance.net/jaedadewalt/resume
