Artist Statement I do not like to call myself "the photographer". The photo for me is the reflection
of the past, fixing, documenting of the moment, and it's the last thing
what I'm interested in from the creativity point of view.
Recently I have found a word "shaper". For me this term is important, because
it does not say about the person more than about capability to issue idea.
The photographer it more likely a predicate of the shaper. So now I prefer to be just
a shaper. And even speaking about a portrait I do not consider it in classical meaning.

I do not remember when I have bought the first camera but it seems to me being in Prague.
When I was 20 years old I have moved abroad and
have lived there about 7 years. I liked the countries which I saw, but to me it was very boring.
Purchase of the camera was partly purchase of new means to express something inside me. I remember
that I has made several portraits of my friends and my wife, then walked with the chamber
across the city and I understood at once that only thing that is interesting for me to capture is a human being.

In 2003 I returned to St.-Petersburg and started to work at studios.
It was unpleasant time because it's very hard to work at rental studios. I guess a lot of you have faced with it.
Spectators were very supportive. They did not only praised they also told me the words that I would liked to mean.

Now four friends of mine and myself have the small studio and it gives us a full freedom for our creativite work.
