Description This beautiful and hard-to-grow plant (outside the Himalayas) displays wonderful colors, shapes and textures. Petals are turquoise blue with subtle violet stripes, the anthers are golden yellow, the leaves and stem are rough textured green with fine hairs, and the pistil, eclipsed by the petals in this photo is long and light green. Scientific name is meconopsis betonicifolia and is not closely related to the papaver poppy. Shown here with ti-plant leaves.
