The Thief of Hearts
The thief of hearts you ever more shall be, Your scoundrel smile assailing all my soul. Who laughing, careless, steals the best of me.
You come arrayed in all your panoply, And loves allurements on my life enscroll. The thief of hearts you ever more shall be.
I close my eyes in effort not to see The shape of him, who all resistance stole. Who laughing, careless, steals the best of me.
What charmd panpipe plays the melody With which my hearts allegiance you enroll? The thief of hearts you ever more shall be.
All others are reduced to effigy When held against the magick you control, Who laughing, careless, steals the best of me.
I would you scatter all your charms at sea, And set me free to sorrows sad parole. The thief of hearts you ever more shall be, Who laughing, careless, steals the best of me. 2011 RC deWinter
