DescriptionThis is how I painted a true story about Slovenian mothers who went to Egypt to wet nurse children of wealthy people, while their own little children stayed at home. This was the only way to earn money for their families to survive. A lot of love and care was left there, far away from their homeland.
Rebeka Rodosek, Ljubljana Member Since July 2008 Artist Statement I was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia. I attended Art School for Fashion, Design and Photography in my home town.
I showed interest in art as a child, but I became seriously engaged when I started with children portraits. Oil colours and canvas were an important discovery for me and with years I developed a technique of my own-relief on canvas (three-dimensional.) My paintings are different styles and they express my life experience, feelings, emotions...Some are fictional, too.
I believe the most important thing in life is to fulfil one's expectations.
Every life is a journey which gives you an opportunity to learn your true self, so that you can grow spiritually and make progress on to a higher level.
Art is a powerful flow. It can overcome all obstacles on the way in order to deliver its message.
