Description The Miami River Canal (c-6) divides Hialeah (right) from Miami Springs (left). To the right you can see the modern Okeechobee Road, US Highway 27, with its bright lights and traffic. To the left stand native shrubs and a stand of Australian Pine with 60-year old telephone poles perched along the perimeter. It's as if the river separates one time from another. This was taken in the early morning with the sun rising- this view looking West to distant clouds over the Everglades.
William Wetmore, Miami Member Since August 2009 Artist Statement I sincerely hope you find beauty and relevance in my images here. For me, photography is a spiritual pursuit, almost a meditative practice, through which I appreciate the beauty of the world and share that appreciation with you.
I'm always looking for new ideas, and would be thrilled if you suggest topics of interest for me to attempt to capture. And, if you see something in here that you like, but would be interested in a slightly different version- don't hesitate to ask... for every picture in here, I probably have 10 others that I didn't post!
My advice to anyone: "Stop, look around. You'll see something beautiful, wherever you are."
