Artist Statement I enjoy working in a variety of mediums, including painting in oils, acrylic or watercolor, photography, mixed media collage, pastels, and prismacolor markers.

My favorite subject matter includes landscapes, microscopic images and aerial views. You will see from my art that I am inspired by many aspects and angles of nature as well as what I term “the eclectic juxtaposition of inanimate objects”. I love colors and shapes and how they play together.

My artistic journey began as a small child, influenced by our elderly neighbor’s watercolors and an old pencil drawing created by a distant relative. I began taking pastel drawing and oil painting lessons under the guidance of Foster Caddell when I was about twelve, continuing for about five years. These lessons, with traditional emphasis on portrait, landscape and still life compositions also provided me with a solid foundation in drawing. The excellent Fine Arts Program at my high school allowed me to experience a wide variety of mediums and techniques. I attended Columbus College of Art & Design for one year, through a full scholarship based on my high school portfolio.

My work has been shown at Converse Gallery in Slater Museum, Norwich, CT; Hygienic Art Show, New London, CT; Norwich Arts Council Gallery, Norwich, CT.

I invite you to view the products of my artistic journey and hope that you enjoy the voyage…
